The intelligent boost pump system comes with a small PCB board that detects a magnet that is glued into the fuel selector handle.
MidWest Panel Buildingers has an excellen video on the installation steps that can be found here
Video #4 Preparing The Fuel Selector
The magnet is secured to the handle using a quick cure 2-part epoxy then set aside to fully harden.
The next step is to modify the fuel selector shroud to incorporate the PCB ring and back plate that the fuel selector will attach to.
The kit provides a cutout template to locate the mounting holes and enlarge the hole in the shroud.
I held the ring in-place with 1" side grip fasteners
(Note) The notch in the ring is upside down in the image above.
I inserted the alignment pins and bracket on the inside and cut out the material from on the inside of the ring using a Dremel.
I needed to sand down the back side of the shroud to remove the resin so that the back plate would sit flush with the shroud. This took quite some time sanding and fitting until enough resin was removed.
With the hole cut I could now install the outer bezel, and fuel selector body into the shroud.
Later I will need to take this apart again and remove a lot more material from the back of the shroud to have enough room to install the fuel line fittings.
